The Lume Lamp by SYNCERE combines human-trained AI and computer vision that expands its functionality beyond illumination. It also performs simple household tasks such as folding laundry, handling the dishwasher, making the bed, and retrieving objects.
Its lampshade hides its robotic articulation, which activates when ordered to perform household chores. When idle, it sits beside tables, beds, or couches, providing ambient and focused light. But the robot’s AI needs guidance before it can perform its duties.
The user wears the Personalization Band to teach the Lume Lamp manual tasks, such as folding laundry, making the bed, tidying the room, and more. The band connects to the lamp and lets the user customize its functions. But it may need two units to fold clothes, as shown in the video below. The manufacturer says it will add tasks and update its functionality over time.
Additionally, the robot pauses its tasks for safety when it detects nearby objects and people. Details on the product are still scarce. The video teased that it promises to automate simple household chores for the family. It even turns on the turntable to play music, interacts with kids, takes your photos or videos, and more.
Lume Lamp measures as small as 11″ x 15″ x 45″ when folded, about the standard size of a floor lamp, and unfolds only when ordered to perform its tasks. It’s crafted from anodized aluminum with high-gloss finishes. Its slender form stays steady and stable when immobile. But when it moves, it does so quietly and deliberately.
