Stockholm-based Corniche Watches is a young brand “with big ambitions”, that creates classic-looking (and expensive-looking) timepieces with great focus on materials and detail. They were kind enough to send us the Heritage 40 ($370) – the white stainless steel version – so we can take a closer look and share our review with you, our much-appreciated readers.

Corniche describes this model as their “most sporty piece”, but in all honesty we don’t see ourselves wearing the Heritage 40 (or any of its 5 different variants) with a tee & jeans, however we’d gladly show it off paired with a suit. In our view, this traditional watch is perfect for those occasions that require a more formal attire, although it does have a young, slightly relaxed flair.

The case is a classic 40 mm in stainless steel boasting a mix of brushed and polished finishes, including a detailed engraved Mediterranean pine tree on the case back. Hand-applied polished markers & blue anodized faceted hands rest on a crispy-white ceramic dial protected by a Sapphire glass, while the curved lugs & leather strap with crocodile pattern, finish the watch beautifully and ensure a comfortable fit. Each Corniche Heritage 40 is powered by a solid Miyota 2025 Quartz movement, is waterproof down to 5 ATM, and arrives in a fancy piano lacquered wooden box.

After spending a couple of weeks with this fine watch, our conclusion is this: if you’re in the market for a reliable, sharp-looking timekeeper that’s high-quality but doesn’t come attached with an insanely-high price tag, the Heritage 40 will surely fit the bill.
