Keeping beverages hot, warm, or at your ideal temperature is tricky when it’s in a mug or cup. Steam can easily escape from the wide-open mouth. Unless it’s in a double-wall vacuum tumbler that promises hours of insulation, you can enjoy it until the last drop. The Ember 3 mug, though, aims to do just that with its built-in temperature control.
This is the third generation of Ember Technologies’ flagship mug featuring most-requested improvements from loyal customers. One concern from the previous release was adjusting the drink’s temperature. You had to go through the companion app to do that.
This time, Ember 3 lets you adjust the temperature from the app or on the mug itself. A power button at the bottom lets you cycle through five temperature settings in preset five-degree increments. The temperature ranges from 51.67°C to 62.78°C (125°F to 145°F). An indicator light matches each level, and the on-board temperature seamlessly syncs with the companion Ember app.
This upgraded version also includes a sliding lid to prevent spills and help retain the drink’s ideal temperature for up to three hours on a single charge. Its improved materials and manufacturing also make it top-rack dishwasher-safe. Meanwhile, it retains the same stainless steel and FDA-compliant, ceramic-reinforced exterior and interior coating as previous releases.
“Ember has leveraged new technology and innovation to make the new Mug 3 easier and more natural to use, all while maintaining its award-winning design,” said Ember CEO Matt Murray. The new model is available in 10oz and 140z sizes. The 10oz comes in black, white, and a new stainless steel colorway. The 140z size is available in salt blue, black, white, sage green, powder blue, lavender, sandstone, and matcha green.
