It still feels surreal that Hollywood hasn’t announced the next face of the James Bond franchise. After Daniel Craig bowed out of the role following No Time to Die in 2021, people heard nothing but speculation. Nevertheless, Agent 007 is still as popular as ever. In the meantime, Bilgin Yachts shares new details about the Project Bond.
This elegant monohull is based on the shipyard’s BILGIN 270 — a 270-footer with a 47-foot beam. As of this writing, this luxury vessel is the firm’s largest blueprint to date. Additional information supplied by the marketing page lists the naval architect and exterior design as Unique Yacht Design. Elsewhere, H2 Yacht Design is in charge of the interiors.
From what the latest images show, the team understood exactly what their mission was. It should be obvious that the owner of Project Bond is a fan of Ian Fleming’s work. Hence, everything appears to be tailor-made to suit his interests. The overall theme channels an Art Deco vibe, which uses materials such as fabrics, mirrors, and plenty of diffused lighting to create a moody atmosphere.
Some say the lavish spaces are what you would find in a typical bad guy’s lair, but it’s totally up to the beholder. Bold shades of blue adorn various surfaces in every room but never clash with the classy decor. Premium materials, golden accents, reflective surfaces, leather upholstery, chandeliers, and plenty more all meld into one cohesive, opulent motif.
The Project Bond can accommodate up to 16 guests across 8 cabins, with a crew of 21 — including the skipper. Propulsion power comes from the MTU16V 4000M73 engines. Depending on sea conditions, this ship can reach a maximum speed of 17.5 knots. On the other hand, conservative cruising promises a range of approximately 5,000 nautical miles.
