Drones are in a complicated place right now. Seeing consumer-grade products used in horrifying ways was not on anyone’s list. Nevertheless, it doesn’t mean people can no longer purchase these items. As usual, DJI is leading the pack with a constant wave of new releases. After the success of the Avata series and its subsequent SKUs, the Avata 360 is about to shake up the scene once again.

With 360-degree cameras enjoying mainstream popularity, the Chinese manufacturer is offering something even better. By equipping its versatile first-person-view (FPV) platform with similar capabilities, it’s bringing the best of both worlds for content creators. A marketing snippet reads, “capturing every epic moment in all its glory. Take to the skies, embrace the infinite, and unlock a new dimension of 360° creativity.”

We can confidently say that the Avata 360 will ship with all the latest tech that makes it intuitive to control. Users can make daring aerial maneuvers to capture adrenaline-pumping photos and footage. It will take some practice, but there are safeguards in place to encourage you to push the drone to the limits. The built-in propeller guards and omnidirectional obstacle sensors should inspire confidence even among novices.

However, in the hands of a seasoned veteran, this bad boy becomes a cutting-edge cinematography tool. DJI confirms it is compatible with the RC 2, but performs best with the Goggles 3/N3 and RC Motion 3. Those prone to motion sickness should skip the latter combo and opt for the standard remote controller instead. The Avata 360 is now available globally.
