Dramatic views. Natural light. Consistent connection to its dynamic surroundings. The Woodland House offers all these treats and then some.
Placed on a wooded plateau in Woodland, Minnesota, the residence overlooks a wetland and Lake Minnetonka beyond. The construction is laid out as a single-level and is formed by three cedar wood wings that are connected by large glass entry links. The dark-stained exterior makes the dwelling blend in with the nearby trees while a separate shiny storage shed adds a counterpoint to the house and seems to dissolve into the woods by flashing fragmented reflections of the surroundings.
Inside, you’re welcomed by an uncluttered living space, warmed by a generously-sized bluestone fireplace. Walnut flooring and exposed wood beams grant a comfy, raw character to the interior, which is a hushed contemplation point for the dynamic external landscape.
