DJI Mavic Air

Claimed to be their best consumer drone yet, the Mavic Air from DJI is a highly-portable camera drone that offers high performance and smart features.

The drone is for the traveler and outdoor enthusiast, hence its packable size – nearly the size of a smartphone and weighing just 15 ounces – but it offers a flight time of 21 minutes. Top speed is 42 mph and it can reach elevations of up to 16,404 feet above sea level. Its remote with detachable control sticks has a maximum range of up to 2.5 miles.

The compact aerial device shots 1080p/120fps slow-motion footage, and 12-megapixel HDR stills, thanks to a 4K camera with a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor and the equivalent of a 24-mm F2.8 lens. This powerful cam is fixed on a 3-axis mechanical gimbal that minimizes vibrations. Various video modes are available, including Asteroid that zooms in as it descends toward the subject on the ground, and Boomerang which circles the subject in an oval-shaped flight path. An ultra-responsive SmartCapture control mode (range of up to 20 feet) lets you control the drone using hand gesture commands.

Arriving with 8 GB of onboard memory and a slot for a microSD card, the DJI Mavic Air comes in white, black, and red.
