Paying homage to the 1979 Mercedes G-Wagen, the 2019 Mercedes Benz G-Class keeps the same shape and design as the original. While the outside remains the same, the interior receives more room, and a fresh new design with the modern Mercedes treatment.
This off-roader is equipped with a 4.0-liter engine and will kick out 416-hp. The front suspension has been re-designed but the rear suspension will still use the old solid axle design. We hear the new Merc will feature better steering feedback, improved front-end rigidity, and more ground clearance for improved performance on bumpy terrain.
While there’s no word on the release date or pricing yet, we can expect to see some announcements coming towards the final quarter of 2018. Consumers that were fans of the original will be in love with the new heated seats, the 1.5 inches of additional legroom and the new modern interior treatment this 2019 edition is getting.
