Becoming a classic almost from its introduction in 1961, the Jaguar E-Type improved on itself just a few years later when an upgraded 4.2-liter powerplant was introduced in 1965. Besides the powerful engine that took the E-Type to its 150 mph top speed, the sleek rounded curves of the Jaguar gave it an unquestioning grace on the road. Even Enzo Ferrari claimed the this was the most beautiful car he had ever seen.

Now a superlative example of this classy vehicle is coming to auction at RM Sotheby’s. This 1996 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Roadster with the 4.2 liter inline 6 cylinder engine has a known ownership record from new, and a numbers-matching powertrain despite a fresh restoration that included a new Opalescent Grey paint to contrast with the leather Cinnamon interior. The engine was extensively rebuilt by Scottsdale Auto Machine of Arizona.

Offered with the matching removable hardtop, this impeccable E-Type Roadster is hitting the auction block with No Reserve!
