Following fast on last year’s success with their Single Barrel Rye Whiskey, Jack Daniel’s is set to release a new rye whiskey using the same grain bill but at a much lower price point. According to Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller Jeff Arnett, this new line of rye whiskey features a mash bill of 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% malted barley.
As with most of Jack’s offerings, this new Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Straight Rye Whiskey ($27) is charcoal mellowed before being placed in new American oak barrels made by Jack Daniel’s own in-house Coopers. The distillery doesn’t give a specific aging time for this new rye but it is being bottled at 90 proof. Slated for release this October, the MSRP is just $27 for a 750ml bottle of smooth Tennessee drinking delight!
