Of the three shoes Under Armour has released in their Horizon line of trail shoes, the nimble Horizon KTV ($98+) is the lightest. It was developed with the help of pro trail runner Kyle Dietz who provided expertise for what the casual runner needs.
With a 7mm drop, the comfortable full-length EVA midsole in the Under Armour Horizon KTV also features a stone plate for extra protection against rocks and other irregularities on the trail. The outsoles are Michelin Oc Outsole Compound with their Wild Dig Decent’R lug pattern that helps shed mud and dirt regardless of the weather.
The one-piece upper uses a monocoque construction with heavy translucent TPU material backing the internal fitting system. While this does seem to make the upper and the floating tongue feel somewhat stiff, it’s said not to be uncomfortable. When taking the unique lacing system into consideration, it becomes a very firm and protective fit. The Under Armour Horizon KTV running shoes comes in a variety of colorways to suit different tastes.
