In the three years since BMW launched their premium Hybrid i8, they have combined its exemplary performance with special edition releases to keep from over saturating the market. There were only 3,752 units sold worldwide in all of 2016.
One of the latest limited edition BMW i8 editions adds a little extra class to all that classiness. The Protonic Frozen Black Edition ($TBA) features a unique matte black paint with frozen grey metallic accents, and to highlight the dark, shadowy look of the new bimmers are two inch light alloy wheel sets with a W-Spoke design.
The interior of the BMW i8 offers a wide range of customization although the yellow contrast stitching on the seats, side panel, doors, floor mats, and instrument panel remains consistent. Otherwise the BMW i8 has the same innovative electric motor over the front axle and the TwinPower Turbo 3-cylinder engine in the rear. The combined output is 357 hp with 420 ft-lbs of torque that can send the i8 from 0-60 mph in an “passable” 4.2 seconds.
