As a casual skier/snowboarder I can tell you that one of the worst things about this amazingly fun past-time is getting back to the top of the slopes. Of course, you board downhill, so have to get back to where you started, and aside from slipping and sliding your way to the top, the only alternative is to grab a lift. However, now we can use the Splitsticks ($1,800), an ingenious new snowboard come skies come hiking aid.
As the name suggests, this board splits in half, giving the user to hiking aids to not only get back to the top of the slope, but to possibly find some non-marked slopes to enjoy. Of course, how this product works downhill is the most important thing, and you will be happy to know that on the slopes the Splitsticks are fantastic, featuring a floaty nose, a cambered tail, and good flexibility.
