With a name fit for gods, Mars is part of Brazil-based MCP Yachts’ 106 Limited Edition line. Athletic and robust, the 106-foot vessel merges functionality with luxury in a smart and complete way. For instance, instead of using the available deck space for sunbathing alone, MCP decided to increase the number of appliances and vital equipment.
That, however, did not cut into the high level of comfort that the yacht boasts. The sundeck is still the main place for outdoor socializing, with an inviting Jacuzzi and raised sunbathing area, but it also features a central island that works as an alfresco kitchen/informal bar with generous fridge space, a grill, and a handy ice maker.
On the main deck below, the lounge area is stylishly furnished, yet informal enough for everyone to feel at ease while lounging around, chatting, or even dining. A twin staircase leads downwards to the beach deck, where the fun can continue by the water. Also here is a sunken sauna, a day kitchen with bar area, and a day head – a series of cool amenities that are rarely seen on yachts of Mars’ size.
Another important outdoor area is represented by the foredeck. Here guests can take in the sun in a slightly more private spot, or even have a lovely dinner with friends while the yacht is docked.
On the inside, the design was developed together with the owner to make sure that every specific requirement was met. A clean, futuristic theme makes excellent use of metallic finishes and silver-grey fabrics. The choice of light nude colors enhances the spaciousness of every room. Rather minimal, yet very luxurious, the interiors are elegant and tastefully decorated.
The lower deck holds the guest cabins: three double rooms and one twin cabin. Smart technology allows for easy control of curtains, lighting and sound systems, all via tablet and smartphone. The full-beam master suite obviously benefits from all these technologies, plus extra space and amenities. Brazil may not be world-famous for its luxury yachts, but it certainly is on the right track.
