Leatherman’s iconic keychain multi-tool, the Micra, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. What better way to mark the occasion than by adding three new colorways to the already vibrant design? The Micra isn’t just one of the greatest keychain-sized multi-tools ever made. It’s also one of the legendary brand’s most color-packed designs. So three additional hues to the collection won’t hurt.
This is Tim Leatherman’s oldest continuously produced tool and one of the earliest keychain multitools built around scissors rather than pliers. It rarely undergoes major changes under the hood, which speaks of the brand’s confidence in its craftsmanship and performance.
Thirty years is a long time for any multi-tool to stay relevant while remaining virtually unchanged over its production lifespan. That’s because Micra’s construction (and its featured tools) is as timeless as it comes. Hence, for its 30th-anniversary refresh, Leatherman dropped three new seasonal colors to make this gear highly collectible.
The three colors include Cardamom, Ginger Peach, and North Star. They may look new, but still pack the same reliable, durable stainless steel tool set. The tools include spring-action scissors, tweezers, a ruler, a bottle opener, a nail file, screwdrivers, and a 1.6-inch-long blade.
All these tools pack into a compact design that measures just 2.5″ when closed (4.2″ when opened) and weighs just 51g. Micra is an everyday carry multi-tool that easily clips onto a keychain or slips into a pocket or bag. It’s small but can open packages, slice fruit, handle small fixes or DIY tasks, and more.
