With so much focus on automotive auctions and reveals this 2022 Monterey Car Week, we want to show some love to our friends in the moto scene. This is the BMW nineT Nomad – a remarkable custom project from FCR Original. This bespoke bike takes a renowned roadster and turns it into an off-road-ready machine.

The French shop starts off with an R nine T Urban G/S and equips the two-wheeler with a series of in-house and third-party upgrades. The cool thing about the revamp is that the nineT Nomad retains the classy old-school motif of the donor bike. Most people would call the tweaks minimal, but this is the group’s signature spin on things.

FCR Original details the removal of the original air box. In its place goes a battery holder and K&N air filters. Another noteworthy change is the rear loop with an integrated LED strip for the tail. This supports the new saddle upholstered in brown leather. Side number boards keep the negative space below the subframe out of sight.

To ensure the passenger is comfortable, clients have the option to install additional foot pegs via supports. Meanwhile, the 1,170 cc boxer engine welcomes FCR Original rocker covers and Street Bobber underslung exhausts. The nineT Nomad setup exposes the rear wheel which was behind the original pipes.

Along with the frame, single-sided swing-arm and other components, these are all in black. The nineT Nomad flaunts an FCR Original headlight grille cross handlebar. To ensure reliable performance when off the pavement are wheels shod in Continental TKC80 tires. We’re not sure if the outfit plans to build more than five, but one is currently up for sale.
