This humanoid robot is the American tech group’s latest model. It’s not a complete replacement for human workers, but rather a versatile piece of equipment to assist in most types of tasks. So far, the functionalities of the Digit 5 are ideal for warehouses that serve as hubs for logistics and stock storage.
According to the spec sheet, the unit touts a 10:1 run-to-charge ratio. It roughly means a 20-hour runtime before the batteries need to recharge. The robot can lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. and features swappable grippers for convenient adaptability. Furthermore, it seamlessly integrates with existing automated platforms such as MES, WMS, AMRs, and WMS.
The Digit 5 is equipped with “human detection software” and a complex suite of safety systems for workplace reliability. “Built upon a decade of research and years of deployment experience, our fifth generation humanoid was forged to be the most powerful automation tool we’ve ever built,” states Agility Robotics.
