Arkadia-Life’s P01 Classic Sofa looks like someone cut a 1960s sports car down to living-room size, replaced the bonnet with a leather seat and turned the engine bay into a minibar.

The $30,000 piece is officially described as being inspired by classic GT cars rather than licensed by Porsche. Still, the round headlamps, slim chrome bumpers, louvered rear deck and long-hood proportions make the early 911 influence difficult to miss.

Despite the name, this is not really a sofa. It seats one person inside a channel-quilted cowhide bucket surrounded by automotive-grade bodywork, working lights and enough hidden equipment to make an ordinary armchair feel underprepared.

The Rear Deck Hides A Fridge And Wine Storage

The rear lid opens on small prop rods, but there is no flat-six beneath it. Arkadia-Life uses the space for seven storage compartments, including a refrigerator, wine storage, adjustable cup holders and a wireless charging pad.

The refrigerated compartment measures 220 x 340 x 140 mm, or roughly 8.7 x 13.4 x 5.5 inches. That is enough room for several cans or a bottle laid on its side, rather than a full kitchen’s worth of supplies.

Both rear fenders open as well. One drawer is shown holding watches, while the other carries model cars, which gives a fairly accurate picture of the buyer Arkadia-Life has in mind.

It is a similar collision of automotive design and home accessories to the Monos luggage collection matched to a restored 1998 G-Wagen, only the P01 takes the idea much further. Instead of borrowing a material or pattern, it turns the shape of a classic car into the furniture itself.

Thirteen Speakers Sit Inside The Bodywork

A SENSONUM audio system uses a professional amplifier, subwoofer and 13 speakers to turn the chair into a Bluetooth sound system. A companion app provides sound adjustment, while five knock-sensing panels built into the body replace a conventional bank of buttons.

Arkadia-Life describes the knock controls as an industry first. The company has not published enough technical information to judge how reliably those sensors distinguish an intended command from someone resting a hand on the bodywork, but the idea suits the car-like presentation better than a plastic remote.

Front and rear lights are functional, while multicolor ambient lighting runs beneath the side sills. The complete system is rated at 500W and connects to a 220V, 50Hz power supply, with local plug specifications arranged for the destination market.

This is substantial furniture. The P01 weighs 220 kg, or 485 pounds, before anything is placed inside its compartments. Its shipping crate is listed at approximately 1,950 x 1,750 x 950 mm, so delivery involves more planning than moving a conventional lounge chair through the front door.

The Paint Options Make The Porsche Influence Even Clearer

GT Silver and Jet Green are included in the base specification. Miami Blue, Crayon, Gold Bronze and Panther Black add $750, while Cassisrot, Speed Yellow and Absolutrot add $1,350.

Those colour names will sound familiar to Porsche enthusiasts, although Arkadia-Life does not present the P01 as an official Porsche collaboration.

The channel-quilted cowhide upholstery is offered in eight colours. Alternative leather shades add $750, and buyers can specify a custom-engraved license-plate-style plaque at the rear.

Arkadia-Life also offers a matching P02 Max wall speaker for those who want the same classic-car look without devoting nearly 500 pounds of floor space to it. The openable version starts at $3,000 and can be configured for wine, cigars, jewellery, books or model cars.

The P01 Classic Sofa starts at $30,000 and is available on a quote basis. That is serious money for a one-seat chair, even one with a fridge and 13 speakers.

But this is less about replacing a normal sofa than giving a car collection somewhere to continue after the garage ends.
