Caraway’s drip coffee maker has a glass water tank instead of the common plastic, so you have a clean brew from the start. It holds up to 1.5 liters (50 oz), enough to brew ten cups of coffee at a time. Additionally, there is no plastic in the most critical areas where hot water passes during brewing. Instead, the entire brew path, including the internal tubing, is made from glass and stainless steel.
Water moves through a stainless steel pathway as it’s heated to the precise temperature needed for consistent extraction. Then hot water passes through a stainless steel shower head, which evenly distributes water over the coffee grounds. Water immerses the grounds, allowing the flavor and aroma to bloom.
The extraction happens in a reusable stainless steel filter and steel brew basket, and coffee drips into a glass carafe. Caraway’s 10-cup coffee maker brews at the SCA-recommended temperature of 90–96°C (195–205°F) in 4–8 minutes for optimal extraction. Its bloom cycle also allows trapped CO2 to escape for even extraction and balanced flavor. Coffee stays warm for 90 minutes without compromising flavor.
