Although it took Aston’s engineers 12 years to come up with a new iteration, the 2019 Aston Martin Vantage is finally here and it has already won a horde of fans (production is nearly sold out for the first model year)!
Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the new Vantage sits low and aggressive, boasting bonded aluminum panels and extrusions, a clamshell hood, and the company’s famous grille which is connected to a massive front splitter. All this, together with a complex rear diffuser, offers superior aerodynamic stability without the need for active wings.
The 2-seater packs a twin-turbocharged V-8 (set farther back for a 50:50 weight distribution) powering the rear wheels, coupled to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, and producing 503-hp and 498 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 mph is achieved in just 3.5 seconds, while top speed is 195 mph. The cabin gets a more intuitive user interface but maintains the brand’s admirable driver-focused environment and superbly-finished trim that relies heavily on leather and carbon fiber.
