Miami-based FJ Company is the premiere Toyota Land Cruiser frame-off customizer and restorer in the USA, so they were an easy choice for a customer who wanted to remake an FJ49 4×4 to look like his favorite childhood Tonka truck.
It took reworking classic features across various model years to create the FJ49 Tonka Truck ($NA) and was detailed with such bits as the hot-rod metallic orange paintwork, A/T3 Cooper tires, Mickey Thompson wheels, and a custom front bumper. Since the donor vehicle came to FJ sans original engine, the truck was completely rebuilt & matched to a manual 5-speed transmission.
Inside, the passengers are treated to heated Corbeau sports seats and two matching fold-down rear seats. A marine-grade audio system was installed as well as a durable U-POL Raptor bed liner so the inside stays sweet however far afield they go in this FJ49. All it needs for the perfect Tonka toy truck image is a giant hand reaching down to play with it.
