Knife maker Serge Panchenko is best known for his Dog Tag folding blade designed for Spyderco but that may soon change when people begin to get a hold of this new Böker Plus Lancer Tactical Knife ($95). A part of Böker’s Plus line, the Lancer is a fairly compact looking flat knife, but this simple design is ingeniously put together.
At its heart is a 3″ blade made of 440C steel for strength and durability, while a generous thumb hole allows for quick one-handed opening. Inside the Lancer is a titanium liner to lock the blade in place and is surrounded by an olive drab colored G10 handle that is 4″ long so it provides a nice grip. This beautiful, minimal piece of EDC is complete with a titanium carrying clip on the left side, which – just like the blade itself – boasts a stone washed finish.
At a super-light weight of just 2.4 ounces, the Böker Plus Lancer is an excellent choice for an everyday carry knife. Neither bulky or awkward, this pocket piece will stand up to almost any task you set it to and be with you for a good long while.
