If you dream of living completely off-grid, while being able to move your location anywhere in the world, we suggest you take a look at the Ecocapsule ($TBA)- a portable house with room for two.
Built by Slovakian firm Nice Architects, this aluminium-coated, egg-shaped home measures a modest 8.3 x 14.9 x 7.3 feet and weights only 3306 pounds, but the space is so well utilized that they’ve been able to squeeze in a sofa bed, small kitchen, living room, and a bathroom with flushing toilet and shower. The Ecocapsule features an immense off-grid life span, thanks to its 600 watt solar panels and wind turbine of 750 watts, so you’ll be reasonably self-sufficient, and you can even store excess energy for later in the built-in battery. The spherical shape is also optimized for the collection of rainwater and dew, while the built-in water filters allow you to utilize any water source. Ultra portable, this tiny home fits into a standard shipping container, and it can be shipped, airlifted, towed or even pulled by a pack animal. With production in preparation, the first Ecocapsules are expected to be delivered to the new owners in the first half of 2016.
