Xbox games with gold list announced for August 2016

Every month Xbox releases free games on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One? It’s true!

With the $60 a year membership of Xbox Live Gold membership service, users can access a range of free games every month, and these Games with Gold are compatible with Xbox One, therefore members can still download all the free Xbox 360 titles directly to their Xbox One and they will work on the Xbox One without a hitch.

Following are all the games available this August:

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate

Deals with Gold for Xbox 360 :

Ghostbusters and Grand Theft Auto V deals for Xbox One are available for all Live members.

The Games With Gold program was started by Microsoft to spotlight older games on the Xbox One. At the same time, it would give Xbox Live Gold members an added perk for signing up.

Update: 7 March, 2016 – New games are going to be released for free on the Xbox One. The games are available through Xbox Live Games With Gold, a program available to all Xbox Live Gold members. All Xbox Live Gold members can download the games for free each month, with a few cycling out every few weeks.

2016 March Games with Gold lineup includes Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments and Lords of the Fallen for Xbox One. For Xbox 360 owners, (and through Xbox One backwards compatibility) March kicks off with Supreme Commander 2 and then Borderlands.

Update: 3 March, 2016 – Xbox one users will have access to Sherlock Holmes: Crime and Punishment from March 1 to 31, and also be able to download Lords of the Fallen for free from March 16 to April 15.

Xbox 360 users will get access to Supreme Commander 2 from March 1 to 15, and Borderlands is available from March 16 to 31.

Update: Feb 2016 – Starting on February 16th, two new Xbox One titles will be added to the lists. The titles, Hand of Fate and Styx, Master of Shadows, will replace the current titles, Thief, Killer Instinct, and Zheroes. Gold members wanted to the get latter three games will have until February 15th to download them.

Ever since backwards compatibility was added to the Xbox One, Xbox 360 games have also been added to the Games with Gold list. Currently, on the list is Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which will be available until January 31st.

Starting on February 1st, Sacred Citadel will be added to the Games With Gold list. It will be available for free until February 15th. Then, on February 16th, Gears of War 2 will be made available for download. Gears of War 2 will be available for the remainder of February.
