Before upgrading to the latest Windows edition, you should know that files kept on your system will still be there even after the upgrade is completely installed.
It would be best, however, to keep copies of your files on other places such as memory sticks and cloud services, just so you’ll have a copy of them in case anything goes wrong — although it is highly unlikely for anything to go wrong at this stage.
Another thing that you should realize is that some default apps from past versions of Windows may disappear right after the upgrade. This is because Windows 10 has its own version of these apps.
Games like Hearts and Solitaire from past versions of the platform, for example, will no longer be available after the upgrade as Windows 10 has its own version of these games.
