Remove Card from Apple Pay

Credit card details are very sensitive and landing in the wrong hands can end up catastrophic. For this reason, it’s important to know how to undo some of the payment settings to keep this information safe. Today, we’ll look at deleting a credit card from an Apple Pay account.

Apple Pay makes the process of paying for your purchases online and in store easy and stress-free. It’s also very easy to setup and use. It’s also very easy to manage your payment information from an iOS device or online on the iCloud website.

Let’s dive in.

Requirements

This is a simple process that can be done in a few steps on your iOS device. If you don’t have it in your possession, like in the unlikely event that it has been stolen, you can still remove the information from the iCloud website. You will need a computer with an internet connection for this.

Deleting a Credit Card from an iOS Device

Step 1: Fire up the Settings application on your iOS device. You can use an iPhone or iPad.

Step 2: Once you are on the settings menu, look for Passbook & Apple Pay and tap on it to expand the menu.

Step 3: Find the credit card that you would like to delete and tap on it

Step 4: Scroll down to the bottom of the Card Information screen and tap on Remove Card

That’s all you need to do. The card will no longer be usable on Apple Pay. If you don’t have access to your iPhone, you can use iCloud to remove the card using the following steps.

Deleting a Credit Card from iCloud

Step 1: Fire up any internet browser and go to iCloud.com

Step 2: Log it using your Apple ID and Password

Step 3: Click on the Settings icons to see a list of your devices

Step 4: Under My Devices, click on the device that you want to remove the credit card form e.g. the stolen phone.

Step 5: You will see a list of debit and credit cards on the right of the screen. Click Remove to delete a single card, or Remove All to delete all cards.

That’s all you need to do. You will not be able to spend any money on Apple Pay using that card.
