Casio’s rugged G-Shock watches are so popular and well-recognized that they have used the same design and durability to produce their new smart camera, the G’z EYE! This action camera is built tough – able to survive a 13′ (4m) fall or 164′ (50m) of water. It has an IPX8 dust rating and can operate in cold temps as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit (-10C).

The G’z Eye has integrated WiFi to connect to your smart devices running the Android or iOS app. It can be operated by the exterior buttons, through Bluetooth, the optional remote, or with the Pro Trek WSD-F20 Smart Outdoor Watch.

The photography is superb as the EYE has a 6.9-megapixel sensor and single focus wide-angle lens. It can grab 170.4 degrees shooting Full HD video at 1920×1080 resolution at 30 fps and 190.8 degrees 6 Mpx still photography at 3008 x 2256 resolution. There is even a short-term slow motion feature for ultra-dramatic effect. As of now, Casio is only planning to release the G’z EYE in Japan.
