Here at Mens Gear we see our fair share of tuned up cars. The usual way these things work is to take an already very quick car and make it even faster by adding more power; but Jaguar has gone down a different route with the 2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT. The truth is, if the car is already superfast how much faster do you really need to make it? That is clearly a question Jaguar asked itself as it avoided adding more power and just made its standard XKR-S even better.

To turn the already rapid XKR-S into a real track racer Jaguar went to town on the weight and aerodynamics. The car features a carbon fiber front splitter, dive planes, extended wheel arch spats, rear diffuser, an aluminum under tray, and a carbon rear wing, larger carbon ceramic brakes, wider 20-inch forged alloy wheels, a stiffer suspension, and a revised active exhaust system. The result is a car that spits out 550HP from its 5.0-liter V8 motor and will achieve a top speed of 186mph while reaching 60mph in fewer than 4 seconds. Only 25 of these street legal track cars will be available in the U.S. at a cost of $174,000 each.
