French research and development company SEAir is probably best known for their series of flying boats. Combining rafting with hang-gliding, the SEAir Flying Boats bring ultra-light flying to a greater range of people.

Taking advantage of aeronautical developments, SEAir improves boat performance with foils to modify existing systems. This year SEAir has dominated the Cannes Yachting Festival with their 747 RIB and another boat meant only to fly over the waves. The Art Boat version of the Flying RIB was created in collaboration with artist Louis-Marie de Castelbajac.

This Limited Edition “Ortolan” is a 40-foot monohull capable of holding up to eight passengers and crew. The specially designed retractable foils lift the hull out of the water for its flying effect. Designed for open sea navigation, racing, or leisure cruising, the SEAir Flying RIB Art Boat uses the most advanced technology to make it faster, safer, and easier to operate.
