Nike Air Max Zero

Every now and then, a brilliant idea is labeled “ahead of its time”, and it never gets pursued further. Exactly the case of a sketch drawn in 1985 by Tinker Hatfield, when the sneaker mastermind had envisioned a revolutionary shoe that today, three decades later is finally emerging: the Nike Air Max Zero ($150,00).

Forerunner of the first-ever sneaker with visible Air on the heel (the Air Max 1), the Zero shares similarities to its cousin, but it’s obviously more technologically advanced. It sits on the new Air Max 1 Ultra outsole, the toe-tip is sourced in monofilament yarn mesh, and the comfort of the cushion has been built off by adding fuse uppers for minimal bulk&weight. Surely an uproar causer among fans, the Nike Air Max Zero will be available for pre-order on March 22nd on the brand’s website, and globally online on Air Max Day (March 26).
