WhatsApp update v2.12.367 is available via the Google Play Store, which includes great new features such as starred messages, direct share and rich link previews for Android 6.0 Marshmallow. WhatsApp will improve its overall user experience with the new features including the rich link preview option that will enable users to share links to webpages, tweets and youtube videos, and the link will include a title and thumbnail image. These links can then be filtered and picked by the receiver according to their descriptions without ever having to open the actual link.
Another great new feature that comes along with the update is the ability to bookmark important messages and media files with a star enabling users to come back to it whenever they require, and in order to star a media file or a message, you will simply need just to tap and hold on it until the star button appears. You can always remove the star by just tapping on it again and waiting for the star to disappear. You can also select your favourite message from the chronologically arranged contact names via the overflow menu inside the app.
With the new ‘Direct Share’ feature that is only available for Android 6.0 Marshmallow, users can select a chat of their choice and use it when they want to share content from other apps.
