Final Characters Released For Super Smash Bros.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS has received its final batch of DLC. The content was released earlier today, and it was previously announced that it would be the final batch of content produced for Nintendo’s popular fighter.

The first major piece of content in the new Super Smash Bros. DLC is Corrin. Corrin, the main character in the upcoming game Fire Emblem Fates, is a swordfighter, much like their Fire Emblem counterparts. However, Corrin also has the ability to turn partly into a dragon, allowing them to use a multitude of unique attacks. Lastly, Corrin comes in both male and female form, since the gender of Corrin can be selected in Fire Emblem Fates.

The second major piece is Bayonetta, who was the big surprise at the end of December’s Nintendo Direct. Bayonetta, a demon from the Bayonetta series, uses multiple guns to attack her foes. Also, she comes with various costumes, themed after different looks she has at different times in the series.

Released over a year ago, Super Smash Bros. has been delivering waves of DLC to players since the first character, Mewtwo, was made available in April. The Super Smash Bros. team never planned on making downloadable content, so the announcement of Mewtwo came as a surprise to fans. However, after noticing the huge response after the announcement of Mewtwo, the Smash Bros. team decided to continue making new downloadable content.

Smash Bros. For The Nintendo NX

There is also a rumor that Super Smash Bros. will be released for the Nintendo NX upon its arrival. Judging by the sheer size of creating a new Smash Bros. game, it seems likely that the NX will use a ported version of the newest installment. However, none of this has been confirmed by Nintendo.

Super Smash Bros. Will Add Corrin And Bayonetta In The Coming Days

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS’s final characters now have a release date. After both Corrin and Bayonetta were revealed in a Nintendo Direct back in December, both characters are confirmed to have a release date of February 3rd. They will be released in the early afternoon PST on Wednesday.

Corrin, who was revealed before Bayonetta, is from the upcoming Fire Emblem: Fates. Corrin is a swordfighter who also has the ability to transform into a dragon, giving them a number of unique attacks. Like fellow Fire Emblem Robin, Corrin comes in both male and female form, as the player is able to select the gender of Corrin on Fire Emblem: Fates. The cost of Corrin will be $4.99 on either Wii U or Nintendo 3DS and $5.99 for both.

The second fighter, Bayonetta, is a demon who uses guns and acrobatics to combo foes. Bayonetta also has the ability to summon demons using her hair, a skill which she can use during combos to attack opponents. Bayonetta comes paired with the Umbra Clock Tower Stage, a stage themed after the opening sequence in Bayonetta. The stage will have platforms that float in and out of play, which causes the fight to evolve as time goes on. Bayonetta paired with her stage will cost $5.99 on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U while purchasing the combo for both platforms will run $6.99.

Super Smash Bros DLC: Bayonetta and Corrin set to be released on February 3rd, 2016.

Smash 4 DLC? – Corrin and Bayonetta are the final characters to be added to Super Smash Bros, which released well over a year ago. While there is likely not going to be any more DLC for this game, players can expect a couple of updates in the future to balance fighters and fix bugs.

Super Smash Bros. Has New DLC Coming February

Bayonetta and Corrin have been revealed as the newest fighters in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS. The news was given by Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai in a Nintendo Direct last week. The direct, which was about 30 minutes long, also went into detail about the characters’ moves.

Corrin, who hails from “Fire Emblem: Fates,” has the ability to transform parts of their body into dragon parts. Also, Corrin uses a sword which can resemble a chainsaw during battle. “Fire Emblem: Fates” has not been released in America yet, but it has been released in Japan. In the game, Corrin can either be male or female, so both male and female costumes will be available for Corrin in Super Smash Bros. The effects of choosing male or female are purely cosmetic, much like Robin and Wii Fit Trainer.

Also revealed was Bayonetta from the “Bayonetta” game series. Bayonetta uses four guns (one for each hand and one in each shoe) to fight opponents. She can also summon a demon using her hair and freeze opponents in time momentarily. She will be released alongside Umbria Clock Tower, a special stage themed after the opening sequence in “Bayonetta.”

These characters were announced the same day Cloud from “Final Fantasy VII” was released. Cloud, one of the most famous video game characters in history, fights using his Buster Sword. Also available with Cloud is a Midgar stage, themed after the metropolis in “Final Fantasy VII.”

At the end of the Nintendo Direct, Sakurai noted that these are the final characters to ever be added to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS.

The official Super Smash Bros. website states that both Corrin and Bayonetta will be available in February 2016.
