The wait is over. We finally see the Samsung Galaxy S8 in its full glory. Of course, this is not an official announcement, but we can safely say it is as close it can be. Evan Blass has a reputation as “professional spoiler of well-kept smartphone secrets”. And now he leaked an image that shows how the Galaxy S8 will look.
What is in the leak?
The leaked image shows the redesigned Galaxy phone. As we reported for weeks, it lacks the physical button on display. The display definitely delivers the 90:10 screen to body ratio that Samsung promised.
There are almost no bezels, and the Samsung Galaxy S8 is curved on both sides. The upper design of the phone stays the same with the front camera flash and the LED light signal. The bezels take just a tiny bit of the bottom and the top of the device. There is no information of software. The leak reads “I think this is what you’ve been waiting for”. And that is definitely true. We talked for weeks how the S8 might look and will look, and now we finally have an answer.
All that is left to see is the specs of the phone. The fun part is that the leak came at the last day of Mobile World Congress, just days after Samsung had its own press conference at the event. The company decided to hold the Samsung Galaxy S8 away from the MWC.
The announcement date?
An interesting aspect is that the leak comes with the announcement date attached. As Samsung teased at the Mobile World Congress, the Galaxy S8 will make its official debut on March 29. The Korean company has an event scheduled in New York, and has already sent invitations. The release date is still up in the air, but more and more reports are pointing towards an April 21 as a release date. We will have to wait and see. In the meantime, how do you like the design of the Galaxy S8? Remember, there is one more month until we officially see the phone in action.
