However, not all is as good as we thought it would be. There are some bad news for customers looking forward to the Galaxy S8. Here are some of them.
The Galaxy S8 Battery bad news
A Korean website, News1 recently spoke with an “unnamed senior Samsung official”, who confirmed the size and the battery power of the upcoming flagship.
The size is the good news, at least for those expecting a large phone. According to the news outlet, the Galaxy S8 will come in two sizes. One with a 5.8 inches display, and another one with 6.2 inches display. Samsung managed to do that by cutting bezel sizes drastically. The phones still might have the same size as the S7 Edge Plus. But the bad news is that those handsets will be powered by not so good batteries. The smaller version will pack a 3000 mAh battery, and the bigger version will pack a 3500 mAh battery. And while on first glance it looks like a big battery, both were rumored to have at least 300 mAh more.

Yes, the Snapdragon 835 and the new Exynos chipset will be more efficient. But the No.1 problem for batteries is the display. And the larger display will drain much more battery than previous versions. And that is where we get to comparison, as the Galaxy S7 had a 3000 mAh battery, and the S7 Edge had a 3600 mAh battery. Both phones had smaller display. Many upcoming customers expected to see better battery life, but that might not be the case.

The “other” bad news
There will be some other disappointments probably by the time we see the S8 in action. But what now for sure is that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be a challenge for unlocking, especially if you want to use the fingerprint sensor. Leaks suggest that the fingerprint sensor will now be located below the camera, and not on the home button as on previous models. That will make it impossible for people without long fingers to reach it. Yes, the phone will have iris scanner, but that is a three step process.Leaks also suggest that Samsung will keep the RAM power of the S8 to 4GB. Yes, that is still a lot of power, but rivals and competitors are gunning and already have 6GB of RAM. The camera is not upgraded. We still have the same 12MP dual camera. Samsung teased that there will be upgrades in the features, lens and other aspects of the camera though.

And while the Samsung Galaxy S8 will still be the phone to beat in 2017, the problems with battery life, the fingerprint sensor and the camera are worrying. The new Pixel and the new iPhone are coming later in 2017, and they might be better than the S8.
