Rogue One: Darth Vader is Back

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is arguably one of the most anticipated movies of this year and it looks like the constantly increasing excitement surrounding this upcoming movie just went up a notch after the film’s makers released the movie’s latest trailer.

While Disney has always been clear about the plot and story line to its latest Star Wars installment, how the story goes exactly and who the characters in it are specifically weren’t always clear — until recently.

Rumors surrounding Rogue One have always supposed that the prequel to the legendary 1977 original Star Wars blockbuster will feature one of the world’s most prominent villain — who, arguably, is also one of the franchise’s inestimable characters — Darth Vader himself.

These rumors seemed to have held true as the latest trailer from the much-awaited movie has given fans a glimpse of no less than Darth Vader himself.

The trailer, which was debuted on NBC during the network’s Rio Summer Olympic Games coverage on August 11, also featured other Rogue One characters including Saw Gerrera and Jyn Erso.

The duration of the movie’s latest trailer lasts for an entire two minutes but Darth Vader’s appearance on the trailer itself only lasted for mere seconds.

As more details about the Rogue One movie surface, previous rumors about the movie are also put to rest.

Movie actor Hayden Christensen — who previously played the role of Anakin Skywalker in the franchise’s sequels Episode I, II, and III — was previously thought to be part of Disney’s Rogue One movie; but these suppositions were quickly put to rest after details about the highly anticipated movie were rolled out by the film’s producers themselves.

Featuring Forest Whitaker, Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Mads Mikkelsen, and Riz Ahmed — Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is scheduled to hit the theaters Dec. 16 of this year.
