Shine Brighter With The Misfit Shine 2
When Misfit launched the first edition of Shine way back in 2012, it seemed as though there weren’t anymore improvements that needed to be done with the beautiful fitness tracker. The device itself was nearly perfect — it had almost everything that every fitness tracker needed.
Or so, we thought.
Years later, Misfit released the second edition of their nearly perfect smart fitness tracker, and they called it the Misfit Shine 2.
Today, living up to the name of its predecessor, the Shine 2 shines even brighter.
Design
Though it is unbelievably thin at 8 mm, the Shine 2 is perhaps one of the most durable fitness trackers to ever grace the market so far. Encased by an incredibly durable material made with T6061 T6 aircraft-grade aluminum and glass-reinforced polycarbonate, the device is not one to break immediately. For this reason, it is no surprise that the Misfit Shine 2 is also water-resistant for up to 50 meters.
Typical of Misfit’s fashionably trendy fitness trackers that don the company’s “from going out to working out” theme, the Shine 2 was designed in such a way that it doesn’t ever have to leave its user’s wrist no matter the occasion. It’s fashionable enough to be worn to different occasions, and durable enough to be worn to different activities.
Specifications
To perfectly pair the device’s impressive durability, Misfit has made sure that the Shine 2 is loaded with impressive capabilities. The device boasts of the most advanced sleep and activity tracking with the help of its 3-axis accelerometer and magnetometer.
The Shine 2 is also powered by a coin cell battery that has the ability to last for up to 6 months, eliminating the need for periodical charging and thus making it possible for users to keep the device on them at all times — increasing the device’s monitoring accuracy in the process.
Needless to mention, the Misfit Shine 2 is compatible with most handheld devices.
One important thing that Misfit’s Shine line is notably missing is the ability to monitor its user’s heart rate. Notwithstanding this minuscule flaw, however, the Shine 2 does shine brighter than most in its category.
