Microsoft’s basic entry-level Lumia 550 is now officially available for purchase in the United States through Microsoft’s online and retail stores.
If you’ve been wanting to purchase a very basic Windows 10 smartphone, then you should probably get the Lumia 550. It’s not a beast, but it has decent enough specs to perform smooth and give a good user experience.
Microsoft Lumia 550 Specs
This Windows 10 smartphone from Microsoft has some pretty entry level specs. You get a 4.7 Inch 720p display that has enough brightness to be viewed under sunlight. It is powered by a Snapdragon 210 SoC, which is the most basic chip that Qualcomm produces.
Accompanying the processor is 1GB of RAM, so you can use apps and perform tasks smoothly. Well, don’t expect top notch performance from this device. For the snappers, you get a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front shooter. There’s 8GB of inbuilt storage and a microSD card slot for expansion.
So yeah, not the most powerful Windows 10 device out there, but it isn’t that bad either. For those who want to experience Windows 10 mobile on a budget, this smartphone is for you.
Microsoft just recently confirmed that several of its smartphones will be receiving the new Windows 10 mobile update soon.
The Lumia 550 comes pre-installed with Windows 10 mobile and costs only $139 unlocked at Microsoft online store.
