Free WhatsApp For Life
You can now enjoy free WhatsApp for life as the Facebook-owned company will soon stop charging the $1 annual subscription fee.
When it comes to cross-platform messaging, there’s nothing better than WhatsApp. The messaging client is available on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Symbian S60, Java and on the web. It’s everywhere, so you can be in touch with your friends and family at all times.
WhatsApp used to be free for the first year of usage, but users had to pay a small annual fee of $0.99 for continued service. That’s not much at all, but the company says that several WhatsApp users in rural countries do not have access to a debit or credit card.
Therefore, WhatsApp will no longer charge a subscription fee and will be free for all, on all platforms. This new model should start taking effect in the coming weeks, as WhatsApp is currently testing other revenue models. The company will not be displaying ads or anything, not to worry.
” For many years, we’ve asked some people to pay a fee for using WhatsApp after their first year. As we’ve grown, we’ve found that this approach hasn’t worked well. Many WhatsApp users don’t have a debit or credit card number, and they worried they’d lose access to their friends and family after their first year. So over the next several weeks, we’ll remove fees from the different versions of our app and WhatsApp will no longer charge you for our service. “
So how’s the company going to make revenue? Well, WhatsApp is currently testing new revenue models. The new measure includes the ability to chat with a business or organization, directly through the app. You can chat with your branch or your airlines, regarding bank accounts and flight details.
Over a billion people use WhatsApp on a daily basis for chatting and voice calls. The messaging client could also start free video calling service soon.
If your WhatsApp subscription is expiring soon, do not worry. The changes are rolling out in the coming weeks, and you’ll be able to use free WhatsApp for life!
