WhatsApp for iOS was recently updated with new features, bug fixes and improvements. The most popular cross-platform chat client continues to grow and is used by more and more people every day.
If you didn’t already know, WhatsApp is owned by Facebook. The latest update, WhatsApp 2.12.12, makes the app even better to use on iOS.
Apple introduced 3D Touch on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, giving users a new way to interact with apps. In the last update of WhatsApp for iOS, the app received support for the 3D Touch features. It also received the ability to Peek and Pop on chats. Hold on a chat to preview it, press and drag upward to view shortcuts such as mark read or unread, mute or delete.
Apart from that, there’s a redesigned Settings tab, very colourful and easy to navigate. All your starred messages are now easily available in Settings. When sending links on chats, a preview of the link can be added, if you want to.
Finally, starting with the last update, you can Quick Reply and Answer calls right from the Notification banner. The Quick reply and answering calls with a message is only for those who’re running iOS 9.1 and iOS 9, respectively.
The latest update improves on these features and fixes certain bugs that were found in version 2.12.11.

- Links that you share or receive will now include a rich preview. When sending a link, you have the option to not include a rich preview.
- Additional 3D Touch features: You can now quickly Peek and Pop chats.
- Redesigned Settings tab.

Whatsapp update 2.12.12 is now available via the App Store and works on iPhone running iOS 6 or later. Of course, to be able to enjoy the latest features of WhatsApp, you would have to be using an iPhone running iOS 9.1. The 3D Touch shortcuts will only work on the iPhone 6s or 6s Plus.
