The BLU Energy XL can last 3 days on a single battery charge
American smartphone maker BLU, has revealed their latest device, the BLU Energy XL, a $299 phone that boasts an impressive battery life.
Folks from the United States will be familiar with BLU, which stands for ‘Bold Like Us’. The company has formed in 2009 and has its HQ in Doral, Miami, FL. They’ve been known to make budget friendly smartphones running Android or Windows Phone, and also, feature phones.
BLU smartphones are sold in the USA, China, Brazil, Western Europe, and Costa Rica. Over 30 million smartphones have been sold by BLU, so far. And now, there’s a new one, that boasts some impressive specs and features.

The latest smartphone coming from their stable is the Energy XL. A device that has some impressive specs, a great battery life, good all metal build, for just $299.
The headline feature of this smartphone is its battery size and life. BLU has included a massive 5000mAh battery on the Energy XL. And according to the company, that massive battery will keep the device running for 3 days with normal usage. You can also use reverse charge other devices using the USB Type-C port, which can come in very handy.
A lot of smartphone manufacturers have been equipping their phones with massive batteries. While this isn’t the largest battery equipped phone available, it’s still pretty good.
Specifications
The BLU Energy XL features a full HD 6 inch AMOLED curved display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. A QHD display wasn’t chosen as that would hurt the battery life. A full HD display on the other hand is quite battery friendly.
There’s a 1.3GHz Octa Core MediaTek 6753 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and a Mali-T720 GPU. As for storage, you get 64GB of internal storage and a microSD expandable slot that supports up to 32GB of storage.
In the camera department, a 13 megapixel camera is available at the back, and there’s a 5 MP front shooter with f/2.0 aperture. You also get a Fingerprint scanner on the front, disguised as the Home button.
As for software, the phone will be shipped with Android 5.1 Lollipop on board, but will receive an update to Android Marshmallow later this year.
The smartphone supports 4G LTE on networks such as AT&T, T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Straight Talk, Cricket, and more.
