The BlackBerry Priv arrives in South Africa next week.
To date, if you lived in South Africa you could only purchase a Priv through Orange. In order to do so, you had to cough up the full up-front price of R 14, 218 (equivalent to $ 884). There were no monthly plans available.
As from next week, however, the Priv will be available on monthly plans from MTN, Vodacom and Cell C, South Africa’s main network carriers. Unfortunately, no details on pricing have been revealed as yet.
The news comes hot on the heels of the Priv’s official launch in India, where it will be priced at a whopping Rs 63,000 (equivalent to $926).
Get Free Accessories When You Buy A BlackBerry Priv
Meanwhile, BlackBerry is also offering a free bundle of accessories, worth $100, with every Priv purchased directly from its online store. The bundle includes a black leather smart flip case (which on its own is priced at $59.99) and a sync pod with a 1.2m USB cable (priced at $39.99).
The sync pod allows the screen to tilt at an angle suitable for bedside or desktop viewing. It also makes it possible to transfer data between your smartphone and your laptop.
The Priv itself is unlocked and priced at $699.99. This is cheaper than you can get it on T-Mobile, where it is priced at $ 719.99.
