BlackBerry has released the BlackBerry Hub services for all Android devices running Marshmallow. The Hub+ is a collection of BlackBerry productivity tools.
If you’re a BlackBerry user, you’d be pretty familiar with BlackBerry Hub. It is a collection of productivity apps such as BlackBerry Inbox, Contacts, Notes, Tasks, and more. The BlackBerry PRIV and the newly announced DTEK50, come with this suite. A BlackBerry launcher is also available in the package.
BlackBerry Hub+ Services
Now, BlackBerry has released BlackBerry Hub+ Services for all Android Marshmallow devices, that includes its entire Hub suite.
We’re excited to announce today that we’re taking some of the best that BlackBerry has to offer, and making it available to more than one billion people worldwide.
Once you download the Hub+ Services app on your Android Marshmallow powered smartphone, you can then download and install the other Hub apps. You’ll get access to BlackBerry Hub, Calendar, and Password Keeper at the start.
BlackBerry Hub+ services is available as a free to try app on the Google Play Store. It is limited to just three apps for now. If you want to gain access to the complete list of apps available on the Hub, then you’ll have to pay $0.99 every month.
Or you could choose to see pop-up ads throughout. Opting for ads will only give you access to the three available apps though, and not the entire collection.
You can use the trial service for 30 days and after that, you either pay or you opt for the ads.
Why BlackBerry Hub?
Why would you want to get the BlackBerry Hub on your Android device, you ask? Well, the Hub suite can easily handle all your social media accounts and email. Instead of you having to open all your different accounts and emails, you can just access them from the Hub.
Notifications from apps such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other similar services, can all be viewed using the BlackBerry Hub app. You can even have access to all your different email accounts, be it GMail, Yahoo, Microsoft, etc, from the Hub.
This is the first product from BlackBerry’s Mobility Solutions Group. The company is not really making any profit from its smartphones, but the Software department is still going strong. Read more about the Hub+ services over here.
Availability
As mentioned before, the Hub+ services is currently only available for Android devices running Marshmallow. However, BlackBerry does want to bring the Hub suite to older devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop.
You can download the BlackBerry Hub+ Services app from the Google Play Store for free. After download the app, launch the app, select Apps by BlackBerry and download the apps you want to try.
