Pickup trucks have been gaining popularity for years – whether used for work or as a useful personal vehicle – but until now there have been no true luxury options. Mercedes-Benz has changed that with the release of their new mid-sized X-Class Pickup ($43,000).

It may not be the most capable of its kind (nor the best-looking one, some might argue) but this is a Merc and it ain’t weak. The truck has a ladder-type frame, independent front wheel suspension, a rear multi-link solid axle, and coil springs on both axles. Inside the cab is pure Mercedes comfort and convenience from the analogue round dials to the 5.4″ color multimedia display. The X-Class comes with 2 four-cylinder diesel engine options & is available for both right or left-hand driving. It comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed automatic available on request.

As pretty as this 4-door truck is, it still has what it takes to work. It can haul a payload of up to 1.1 tons in the bed, or tow up to 3.5 tons behind.
