We rarely come across such successful mash-ups as this custom 1980 Honda CB900 motorcycle, a cool mix of café racer and chopper, with a tough attitude. The sleek ride began its transformation as a 1980’s factory model, powered by a 95 hp, inline four air-cooled engine that did not require reworking but was given a gentle tuning to purr its best.
The owner of the bike was looking for a low, lean and mean appearance, which was achieved in part by the addition of shorter Suzuki GSX600 forks over the chunky handlebars. The 2-wheeler still required extensive rear end work to balance the ride. A grafted Suzuki fuel tank, leather-covered seat, minimal Motogadget components, and custom-made spoked wheels complete the dark-hued build, while Brembo brakes taken from a Ducati Monster provide the stopping power.
The overall look is one of a totally different bike from what started. The 12-second quarter mile and the top speed of 120 mph lend their part in making this a true monster of a bike. [via]
