New from the Swedish audio developer Jays AB is a wireless follow-up to last year’s wired over-ear headphones. The u-Jays Wireless Headphones ($179) hook up with your device via Bluetooth 4.1 for complete freedom of movement while listening.
The headphones pack a battery capable of going for over 25 hours, and its comfortable over-ear cups are 40mm Japanese-silk diaphragm dynamic speakers that deliver crisp isolated sound, with a 32 Ohm impedance and a range of 10 to 20,000 Hertz. The speakers have acoustic tuning filters over the surrounding vent holes for better ventilation and bass response. One of the details worth noting is the full featured touch control on the u-Jays, which includes a one-touch locking mechanism that prevents accidental interruption or skipping.
The u-Jays Wireless headphone is built simple and rugged and even the Kevlar-reinforced cord on the microphone exemplifies the sturdy quality of the unit, without once sacrificing comfort even during those long-listening sessions that sometimes enthrall us for hours.
