In the field of “heirloom” timepieces, German watch maker Laco has created a new set of vintage-style pilot timepieces. The Laco Flieger Erbstück Watches ($1,730) are carefully hand-aged to replicate old military watches from the World War II era.

Using techniques originally developed to forge antique collector watches, Laco has turned those practices to good by openly creating the “used” look in new watches. Despite the careful wear on the stainless steel case, the sapphire crystal is left pristine. The Flieger Erbstück watches are waterproof up to 5 ATM, have closed-loop calf leather straps with rivets, and large dials with thermally blued steel hands covered in Superluminova coating. Available in eight (slightly) different models and powered by Swiss automatic or hand-wound mechanical movements. [via]
