Any dedicated camper or survivalist knows that a good cutting ax is essential to success. Now Hogue Knives, in collaboration with custom knife designer Allen Elishewitz, have crafted the Hogue EX-T01 Tomahawk ($300) to carry you through the toughest adventures.
This tomahawk has been forged from hardened S-7 Blade steel to 54-56 HRC for the one piece blade and handle core. Each tool has been hand sharpened and has a Black Cerakote (TM) finish. There are three colors to choose from on the G-10 glass-based epoxy resin laminate handles; Olive Drab Green, Solid Black, or Blue Lava.
The blade has a cutout center which is matched to its G-10 positive and magnetic retention sheath so it can be quickly and safely locked in place. It also comes with a form fitting carry case and waist band paddle. Two holes in the rear accommodate Tek-Loc. The tomahawk is just a shade under one pound so it will not wear you out either carrying or using it. It is as pretty as it is utilitarian and is ready to follow you through years of service.
