Taking a quantum leap forward in SUV design, the 2017 Land Rover Discovery ($50K) is quite possibly the most technologically advanced vehicle on or off the road. While not as boxy as the traditional Land Rover design, it still contains the signature stadium seating for seven and 9 cubic feet of storage that can be reconfigured from your phone.

A 10″ touchscreen replaces a lot of dashboard buttons and with 612V and nine USB ports, you can power a lot of gadgets. Under the hood you can choose between the 3.0 liter petrol engine producing 340 hp and 332 lb-ft torque or the 3.0 liter diesel at 254 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. Both offer 4 wheel drive and an 8 speed automatic transmission.

The optimized suspension and towing system has a capacity of up to 8,201 pounds. The wheel base is 115″, the wheel track is 66.6″ front and rear with a wading depth of 35.4″ and axle clearance of 11.18″.
