Aspvik House in Stockholm

Aspvik House in Stockholm 3

Perched on a steep hillside in Stockholm, the Aspvik House is a peaceful country retreat, looking out over the tree tops and the archipelago found below.

Built by Swedish architect Andreas Martin-Löf, the two-story dwelling blends in with the surrounding landscape, without being obtrusive.  The steel, timber and glass construction rests on a concrete plinth with 5 0 angled external walls and a characteristic roof that references the Chinese-style tower which occupied the plot in 1917.  To the west of the house there is an infinity swimming pool, while the other side boasts an amazing morning terrace that wraps around the entire home, offering spectacular 360 0 views.  The upper floor contains a kitchen, dining and living areas, while the lower floor holds the entrance hall, bedroom, bathroom and, of course, a sauna for when the weather gets too …Scandinavian.
